Emerson & Trancendentalism: AP Eng 11

Today you are responsible for the following:

1. Researching Ralph Waldo Emerson as a writer & a human being (who is he?  Why is he important?  What did he do?)
2. Defining Transcendentalism (as it applies to literary history).
3. Reading & annotating the excerpt from "Self-Reliance" by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
4. Completing the vocabulary portion of the hand out.

If you finish early, please research for Genius Hour.

 

DO NOT ASK ME WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IF YOU DIDN'T READ THE DIRECTIONS!  If you do not finish the work, then you need do complete it before our next class meeting on YOUR time.

 

Also, I shouldn't have to mention this but ABSOLUTELY no food, drink, or electronics in the media center.
