What Are YOU Going to Teach the WORLD? DO IT.

The mission of Guilford County Schools is to help students "graduate as responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education, or in the career of their choice."  This goal has many key components that work together in order to give each student a personalized experience that connects them to their community while instilling a love of learning.

Everyone is a teacher of something -- whether it's English, math, science, or how to play a kazoo.  I invite my students to share their knowledge & their perspectives in order to create a more diverse learning environment.

I chose to teach English because I think that communication plays a key role in how our communities & societies function; it's not just about Shakespeare & grammar, it's about the mark that we will leave on the world.

You wanna change the world?  You gotta know about it.*

So I want to know, what are you teaching the world?  "No matter who you are, somebody's learning from you.  Everybody's a teacher & everybody's a student."  You have the power to make the world a better place, so do it!

*also, Walt Whitman didn't say YOLO, that was Drake (& about 80% of the US population).  Walt Whitman did say "Every moment of light and dark is a miracle," which is kind of the same thing as YOLO, but more poetic.  Let this be the new motto, erryday, erryday, erryday.
